North Carolina was recently ranked the 10th best economy nationwide by a Wallethub study, but state officials are still looking for ways to improve.
North Carolina's Department of Commerce is planning to publish a new economic development plan in 2020, the first plan since 2013, according to The Center Square.
The department wants to get the community's input on the plan and is holding meetings throughout the state for residents to attend. Several sessions have already occurred, but meetings are also planned for Jacksonville on Oct. 24, Lenoir on Oct. 29 and Cherokee on Oct. 30.
At each meeting, data from different regions across the state are examined, and then the audience provides feedback. Economists hope to draw conclusions from the data collected.
While it's ranked the 10th best economy, North Carolina is also ranked 12th in economic innovation potential in the Wallethub study, the Center Square reported.
