City of Cary issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.
As part of a continuing effort to improve the quality of life for residents and to make Downtown Cary a destination for Town residents and visitors alike, the Town of Cary will be closing a stretch of S. Walker St. to allow for several improvements in the area. In addition to facilitating utility tie-ins for the Downtown Park Project, the improvements include:
- Replacement of approximately 300 LF of varying size storm drainage pipe with a new 36” RCP to provide proper size of drainage pipe for the areas upstream of S. Walker Street including the Downtown Park, parts of Academy Street, and the area north of E. Park Street.
- Relocation of a Dominion Energy gas line.
- Minor sewer repairs and improvements near the intersection of Fairview Road.
