City of Sanford issued the following announcement.
Duke Energy Progress will perform vegetation management starting this week through the end of July.
During this process, private contractor Lewis Tree Company will cut limbs and trees in Duke Energy rights-of-way. Because the work is done by a private contractor, the trucks will not be marked as Duke Energy.
The areas being managed include north and south Horner Blvd, Hill Avenue, north and south First Avenue, Market Street, Hickory Avenue, and Chatham Street. The circuit length for the project is 47.15 miles, includes 2,758 customers, and was last cut in 2015.
