Analysis: Five illegal aliens arrested in North Carolina for crimes including DWI, assault, rape

576 illegal aliens were arrested in May 2024 for crimes, including murder, sex crimes against children, child human trafficking, and drug trafficking. Five of these offenders were apprehended in North Carolina on charges including DWI, assault, and indecent liberties and rape.

An analysis by Restoration News reported that the May arrest figures surpass April's total of 528 illegal aliens arrested.

Marcos Julio Castro was arrested on May 13 in Gaston County, and was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and inflicting serious injuries. He was placed on an immigration detainer.

On May 16 in Gaston County, Victor David Perdomo-Valle was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked with an impaired revocation, driving without insurance, fictitious vehicle registration, and immigration violation.

Pablito Peres was arrested in Guilford County on May 20, where he was charged with DWI, habitual impaired driving, second or subsequent failure to appear, possession of an open container of alcohol, unlawful noise producing, driving while licensed revoked with an impaired revocation, and immigration violation. According to northcarolina.arrests.org, Peres had previously been arrested on May 17 on the same charges minus the immigration violation. Prior to that, he was arrested on March 8, 2023.

Daniel Barahona Asegurado was arrested on May 26 in Forsyth County and charged with two counts of indecent liberties and two counts of statutory rape, as well as one count of communicating threats. He was placed on an immigration detainer.

On May 30, Carlos Garcia-Abarca was booked in Guilford County. He was arrested and charged with assault on a female, misdemeanor stalking, and immigration violation. He was placed on an immigration detainer. 

The Laken Riley Act would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to detain non-citizens who have been arrested for crimes like burglary, theft, and shoplifting. The bill passed through the House for consideration by the US Senate. Five members of North Carolina's House delegation voted against the bill including Reps. Alma Adams (D), Valerie Foushee (D), Kathy Manning (D), Wiley Nickel (D), and Deborah Ross (D).

Since President Biden took office, over 7.2 million illegal immigrants have entered the United States. According to a report from Fox News, this figure is larger than the population of 36 US States.
