As this year’s general election approaches, the nonpartisan organization Common Cause North Carolina is pledging grants totaling $20,000 to Catawba College and Livingstone College. The funds are intended to support initiatives at the two Salisbury-based schools aimed at increasing voter turnout among students and the surrounding community this fall.

“It’s absolutely critical that college students have a voice in this year’s election. And we know that voting at a young age can create the foundation for a lifetime of meaningful civic participation,” said Bob Phillips, Executive Director of Common Cause NC. “We’re proud to support the important efforts of Catawba College and Livingstone College to help students use the power of their vote.”
