City of Asheboro issued the following announcement on March 1.

Pursuant to Asheboro City Council Resolution No. 6 RES 2-23, the City of Asheboro will hold an electronic public auction in order to dispose of a surplus 1998 John Deere 410E backhoe with VIN/Serial Number T0410EX855152.

The electronic bidding for the backhoe will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, and the auction will be conducted by GovDeals. Bids must be submitted by means of the GovDeals.com platform. Detailed information about the surplus backhoe as well as a full listing of the terms and conditions of the sale can be found at www.govdeals.com.


The backhoe is offered for sale “AS IS, WHERE IS.” The city makes no warranty, guaranty, or representation of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the merchantability or fitness for any purpose of the property offered for sale. The city reserves the right to delete/remove from the auction or “NO SALE” the backhoe.

The city has elected to utilize GovDeals financial settlement services. GovDeals collects all proceeds from the buyer. As one part of the collection/payment process, the winning bidder must pay a 12.50% Buyers Premium to GovDeals.

Beginning at 9:00 a.m. on February 28, 2023, visit www.govdeals.com to participate in the electronic public auction. At the GovDeals website, bidders can submit one or more bids, obtain additional information about the backhoe, and review all of the terms and conditions of the sale.
