City of Boiling Spring Lakes issued the following announcement on Jan. 23.
The City has issued a Request for Bids to the eight (8) qualified contractors for the Dam Construction/Reconstruction Project.
The City of Boiling Spring Lakes (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the City of Boiling Spring Lakes located at 9 E. Boiling Spring Road, Southport, NC 28461, until Friday, February 17, 2023, at 2:00 pm local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Project includes the following Work:
Reconstruction of four dams (Sanford Dam, North Lake Dam, Pine Lake Dam, and Upper Lake Dam) that breached during Hurricane Florence. Major work elements include, but not limited to, construction of cast-in-place concrete riser structures and culverts, earth embankment installation, control of water, demolition and removal of existing structures, roadway demolitions and reconstruction, maintenance of traffic, grading, and instrumentation. Sanford Dam reconstruction also includes the installation of deep mix panels and cutoff wall.
Bids are requested for the following Contract: Boiling Spring Lakes Dams Construction/Reconstruction Project. Bidders must comply with the requirements of the State of North Carolina and be appropriately licensed as a Contractor as provided in General Statutes Chapter 87.
