City of Bessemer issued the following announcement on May 27.
Join the City of Bessemer City for our 4th annual Juneteenth Festival in Centennial Park on Friday, June 17th from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. This year we will feature live entertainment from the Carolina Soul Band, Drums 4 Life (Kojo Bey), history lessons, food trucks, and face paining and bounce house for children. Juneteenth is a celebration commemorating the abolishment of slavery, and embracing the rich African-American culture as we move forward as a nation.
