City of Bessemer issued the following announcement on May 11.
On Monday, May 9th Mayor & City Council adopted a resolution formally designating Sunday, May 15-Saturday, May 21, 2022, as Police Week in Bessemer City. During this time, the City also publicly salutes our fallen heroes who gave their lives in the line of duty: Police Officer Michael Patrick Jenkins, end of watch on May 2, 1972, and Lloyd M. Parton Assistant Chief, end of watch June 19, 1948.
