CITY OF ALBEMARLE: Next Stormwater Public Forum on Wednesday, May 11

Conference

City of Albemarle issued the following announcement on Apr. 25.

Join us for our next stormwater public forum on Wednesday, May 11, at 6 p.m. inside City Council Chambers. Learn more about the proposed storm water program at https://www.albemarlenc.gov/stormwater You'll find answers to frequently asked questions like the one below.

How would the proposed stormwater fee impact my utility bill?

-As currently purposed, residents would see a flat fee of $11.50 per month for stormwater. They would see a slight reduction in their solid waste fee as leaf collection would be included in the stormwater program.

-Non-residential accounts (i.e. commercial, industrial, medical facilities, government, schools, places of worship, etc.) would be billed monthly based on dividing the total impervious surface of the property by the Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) (determined to be 3,270 sf) and multiplying that amount by $11.50. The Equivalent Residential Unit is the typical square foot amount of impervious surface of residential properties in the City limits.
