Town of Cary issued the following announcement on Apr. 15.
Beginning this Monday, Walnut Street will be reduced to one way between Kildaire Farm Rd. and Walker St. to allow for construction related to private development in the area. Inbound traffic will be detoured around the area using Maynard Road or Byrum Street and Kildaire Farm Road. Local traffic in the vicinity of construction will be maintained throughout the work.
This work and traffic patterns are expected to evolve throughout construction, which is expected to last into mid-May. Additional traffic alerts will be issued as conditions change.
Signs are currently in place on Walnut Street, Kildaire Farm Road, Cary Towne Blvd, and Dry Avenue to alert drivers of the upcoming work, and a suggested detour through Downtown Cary can be found here.
