Rep. Alma S. Adams, Ph.D., a U.S. Congress member representing North Carolina’s 12th district, shared her views on various issues through a series of tweets dated March 5, 2025. Her statements address concerns about proposed government cuts, international relations, and House decorum.

In her first tweet, Rep. Adams questioned the impact of proposed government downsizing on Mecklenburg County residents. She highlighted potential consequences: "400,000 residents on Medicaid could have their health insurance cut -160,000 residents on SNAP could lose access to food security -17,000 CMS students with disabilities could see programs cut".

Addressing foreign policy in another tweet, Rep. Adams criticized President Trump's stance on Ukraine. She stated that "President Trump’s withdrawal of support for Ukraine shows he’s always going to put his ego before our allies, even if it means siding with Putin & threatening democracy around the world." Despite this administration's position, she expressed her continued support for Ukraine.

In a separate tweet regarding House proceedings, Rep. Adams commented on an incident involving fellow congressman Al Green and Marjorie Taylor Greene's attire during a session. She noted that ".@RepAlGreen was removed from the House floor for violating 'decorum'. Marjorie Taylor Greene violated House rules by wearing a MAGA hat tonight and the Sergeant at Arms refused to do the same." Emphasizing equality in rule enforcement, she concluded with "My hat is back on. We will not let them play by different rules than us."
