A North Carolina group that supports holding cross-dressing ‘drag shows’ in front of children has endorsed Kamala Harris (D) for U.S. President and Josh Stein (D) for N.C. Governor.

Eliazar Posada, interim executive director of Equality NC said in a July statement that the group was transferring it’s endorsement of President Joe Biden (D) to Harris following the Democrat Party’s removal of Biden from the presidential ticket.

“With so much on the line, it is vital that we recognize the experience she brings and the opportunities for progress we will have with her as our next president,” said Posada.

Equality NC opposed a 2023 bill, HB 673, that would’ve prohibited cross-dressing “drag shows” on public property or in front of children.

The group also opposes legislation prohibiting boys from participating in girls’ sports, legislation that would prevent ‘sex change’ experimentation from being performed on children, and measures to prohibit pornographic books from being featured in classrooms and children’s sections of public libraries in N.C.

Those books include Gender Queer: A Memoir, by Maia Kobabe, which features comic-book style images of two male teenagers performing oral sex upon one another, using sex toys and masturbating, drawn by Kobabe.

Equality NC's X account featured Gender Queer among 13 books "that are a great place to start for learning about queer and trans identity, history, and joy."

The group also promoted an October 2023 "LGBTQ+ Brunch" at Queeny's restaurant in Durham with Equality NC Rural Youth Empowerment Program, and featuring cross-dressing "drag" performers from the "House of Coxx" cross-dressing bar.
