Steve Cortes, president of the League of American Workers, said Biden's open border policies and his creation of the border rush "needs to stop."

“Immigration exists for one reason, to improve the lives of current US citizens," Cortes told Old North News. “Overwhelmingly, Americans realize that Biden’s invited bull rush at the US border is not ok, and needs to stop.”

Nearly 9 in 10 North Carolina voters believe immigration does not make the quality of life better in the state, according to a poll released on June 3 by American Greatness.

Only 13% of North Carolina voters believe immigration “makes the quality of life in North Carolina better.” 37% of the state’s voters said immigration makes the quality of life in the state worse.

These poll numbers come about two months after a March poll by the League of American Workers (LAW) found that 22% of North Carolina voters list immigration as the most important issue. Among independent voters, 19% listed immigration as the top issue, Old North News reported.

The American Greatness poll also found that 79% of North Carolina voters support only allowing citizens to vote, an issue which could be on the ballot in November. Only 15% of the state’s voters support allowing non-citizens to vote.

In the race for the White House, the poll found former President Donald Trump (R) leading President Joe Biden (D) 49% to 41% among North Carolina voters, with 11% undecided.

The poll also found Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Robinson leads Democrat Josh Stein 44% to 42%, with 14% of North Carolina voters undecided.

The poll was conducted among 600 likely North Carolina voters on May 29-June 2, 2024 by North Star Public Opinion Research for American Greatness.
