528 illegal aliens were arrested in April 2024 alone for crimes, including murder, sex crimes against children, human trafficking, and drug smuggling. Four of these offenders were apprehended in North Carolina on charges including "sexual contact or penetration under the pretext of medical treatment” and statutory rape and indecent liberties with a child, according to an analysis from Restoration News.

A report from Restoration News found that over 500 illegal alien alleged criminals were arrested in April alone. This figure included 20 illegal aliens arrested on murder charges.

On April 5, Lenny Rodriguez was arrested in Guilford County and charged with resisting, delaying, or obstructing a public officer and felony cocaine possession. He was placed on an immigration detainer.

On April 18 in Brunswick County, Jose Luis Gomez Espinol was arrested and charged with four counts of “sexual contact or penetration under the pretext of medical treatment.” He was held on ICE detainer. According to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, on April 26, Espinol was charged with two more counts of the same crime, and he was charged with an additional count of that crime on April 30.

On April 24, Antonio DeJesus Martinez Hernandez was arrested in Pender County on charges of statutory rape and indecent liberties with a child. Hernandez is being held on an ICE detainer.

Also on April 24, Romario Serban was arrested in Charlotte for his alleged involvement in a credit/debit card skimming scheme at various Walmart locations in the northeast, mainly in New York, between July 2 and July 8, 2023. Serban faces numerous charges including trafficking in or use of unauthorized access devices, conspiracy to traffic in or use unauthorized access devices, wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. As WBTV reported, according to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, "Serban left the United States in 2018 on a flight to Portugal; CBP believes that Serban most likely crossed back into the United States illegally.”

Jose Ibarra, who entered the US illegally in 2022, was charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call, and concealing the death of Laken Riley, a 22 year old student at UGA. According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Ibarra’s arrest warrant accused him of “disfiguring her skull,” and concealed her death by “dragging the victim to a secluded area.” Ibarra had previously been arrested by federal and local authorities in multiple jurisdictions prior to Riley’s murder, according to the report.

The Laken Riley Act would require the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to detain non-citizens who have been arrested for crimes like burglary, theft, and shoplifting. The bill passed through the House for consideration by the US Senate. All five Democratic members of Georgia's House delegation, Reps. Sanford (D), Hank Johnson (D), Lucy McBath (D), David Scott (D), and Nikema Williams (D), voted against the bill.

Since President Biden took office, over 7.2 million illegal immigrants have entered the United States. According to a report from Fox News, this figure is larger than the population of 36 US States.
