WASHINGTON – The Education and the Workforce Committee is set to mark up several significant bills aimed at enhancing workforce opportunities and preserving academic freedom. The scheduled markup includes H.J. Res. 116, H.R. 6418, H.R. 3724, and H.R. 7683, addressing various aspects of education and workforce policies.
Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) expressed concerns regarding current policies, stating, "The Biden administration, bureaucrats, and radical education administrators are holding students and workers hostage with their we-know-better-than-you policies. It’s no surprise that Americans’ confidence in education is plummeting across the board and workers are struggling to meet the demands of a changing economy."
Foxx emphasized the importance of the upcoming bills, noting, “These four bills focus on removing barriers in the lives of students and workers that restrict choice, limit Constitutional rights, and impose values antithetical to American exceptionalism.”
The markup, scheduled for Thursday, March 21 at 10:15 a.m., will cover H.J. Res. 116, a Congressional Review Act resolution, as well as H.R. 6418, H.R. 3724, and H.R. 7683. The event will take place at the 2175 Rayburn House Office Building and will be open to the press, with live-streaming available on the Committee’s YouTube page.
