Chairman Bob Good of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions is set to conduct oversight of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) tomorrow at 10:15 a.m. In a statement, Chairman Good criticized the PBGC, saying, "The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) represents some of the worst of the Biden administration’s incompetence and misuse of taxpayer dollars." He highlighted the agency's failure to implement standard controls and verification procedures, resulting in millions of dollars in inaccurate payments, including funds sent to pensions for deceased participants.
The hearing, titled “Examining the Policies and Priorities of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation,” aims to shed light on the PBGC's mismanagement and ineffectiveness. The event will take place at 2175 Rayburn House Office Building, and The Honorable Gordon Hartogensis, Director of the PBGC, will be a witness.
The press is invited to attend the hearing, which will also be live-streamed on the Committee’s YouTube page.
