Chairman Aaron Bean of the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education announced an upcoming hearing titled “Proven Results: Highlighting the Benefits of Charter Schools for Students and Families.” Bean emphasized the positive impact of charter schools, stating, “Charter schools have a sustained track record of raising students’ academic achievement and improving learning outcomes.” He also highlighted the demand for more charter school options, citing a 2022 national survey which found that “78 percent of parents and families want more public charter school options.”
The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at 10:15 a.m. and will take place at 2175 Rayburn House Office Building in Washington. The event will be open to the press and will also be live-streamed on the Committee’s YouTube page.
Bean expressed the Committee’s commitment to expanding access to charter schools, aiming to provide students and parents with the opportunity to choose the educational environment that best fits their needs and goals.
