City of Asheboro issued the following announcement on Oct. 24.
Notice is hereby given that, at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022,
the Asheboro City Council will initially assemble for a special meeting in
the public vehicular area located between the railroad right-of-way and
the rear entrance to Asheboro City Hall, 146 N. Church Street, Asheboro,
NC 27203. The purpose of this meeting is to tour the senior housing
project that is under development next to city hall at 170 N. Church
Street and is known as the Church Street Lofts. The Asheboro
Redevelopment Commission will also participate in this tour.
Once the tour of the Church Street Lofts is concluded, the city council
meeting will be recessed in order to travel to the city-owned Zoo City
Sportsplex, 2981 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, NC 27205. The council
meeting will then be reconvened at approximately 6:00 p.m. in close
proximity to the concession stand and associated facilities at the
sportsplex. Along with the board of directors for the Randolph-Asheboro
YMCA, the city council will review the progress of the construction of the
Zoo City Sportsplex.
No legislative action is anticipated during this special meeting. Any
person who wishes to attend the meeting is invited to attend.
