City of Albemarle issued the following announcement on Mar. 29.
While we might not realize it, most of us are contributors to stormwater runoff in one way or another. The City of Albemarle is considering a new stormwater utility funded by a monthly fee to not only address major flooding issues, but also costly repairs to aging infrastructure in our City. The establishment of a stormwater utility would also put the City ahead of an anticipated state mandate. You're invited to a public forum on the proposed stormwater utility on Wednesday, April 13th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall inside council chambers.
