City of Asheboro issued the following announcement on Nov. 17.
At 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021, the Asheboro City Council will convene for a special meeting in the council chamber located on the 2nd floor of Asheboro City Hall, 146 North Church Street, Asheboro, North Carolina 27203. The following agenda items will be considered and acted upon:
1. A request for the temporary closure of the normal traffic flow patterns on certain streets in downtown Asheboro in support of activities, including a drive-through parade, planned for the holiday season;
2. A report on engineering studies completed in connection with a potential Newbern Avenue storm sewer improvements project; and
3. In addition to ordinances to amend the General Fund and the Economic Development Fund, an ordinance to amend the Code of Asheboro to properly reflect current, controlling legislative and regulatory enactments, specifically including Session Law 2021-138 (Senate Bill 300) and Chapter 160D of the General Statutes of North Carolina.
The above-listed agenda items will be considered in open session. Public attendance at the meeting is welcomed.
