City of Bessemer issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.
Join the Parks & Recreation Dept. on Wednesday, August 18th at 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM at the First Wesleyan Church (510 E. Alabama Ave.) for our Back 2 School Drive-Thru. This event is free and will be conducted in a drive thru fashion while supplies last. All students must be present to receive supplies. All participants will be limited to one bag per student in grades K-12. Call 704-629-5111 for more information.
