CITY OF SANFORD: New Commission Created for Sanford Parks

Application

City of Sanford issued the following announcement.

The City of Sanford has established a new committee to help enhance, support, and grow its park system.

The Sanford Parks Commission will serve as an advisory group to the Sanford Parks Department and Sanford City Council to help promote, develop, and use municipal parks. Members of the Commission will represent and communicate the needs and interests of park visitors and neighbors.

While the Commission will have no administrative control or final authority for policy making, it will serve the crucial role of interpreting and evaluating programs, facilities, and services. The Commission will also advocate for municipal parks to ensure positive and engaging visitor experiences.

To be eligible to serve on the Commission, a person must be at least 18 years old, be registered to vote in Lee County, and live within Sanford’s city limits.
