An Asheville business-centric organization created a new program designed to help low-wage workers and the unemployed find better-paying jobs with livable wages.
The program called Inclusive Hiring Partners was created by the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County with financial support from the Golden LEAF Foundation.
"We are thrilled because we have been working for 18 months as an outgrowth of our community visioning process," Kit Cramer, with the Asheville Area Chamber, told WLOS ABC 13 on Aug. 5. "We talked about creating a place for all people and shared prosperity."

The creators intend to serve 400 workers in North Carolina through a three-step approach that includes mentorships, skills and training and ultimately getting hired, WLOS ABC 13 News reported.
"It really goes to the core focus of our efforts to improve economic mobility and opportunity in our region," Nathan Ramsey, a member of the Mountain Area Workforce Development Board, told WLOS ABC 13.
Those interested in participating in the program can reach out to the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce Director of Industry Expansion and Workforce Development Director at abrown@ashevillechamber.org at 828-258-6128.
