The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a prominent small business advocacy organization, announced the appointment of Katie Whittington as the Grassroots Manager for a five-state region encompassing Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Whittington will take on this new role from an office in Richmond.

As the Grassroots Manager, Whittington is set to engage with NFIB members throughout these states, focusing on advancing the small business agenda both in state legislatures and on Capitol Hill. Contributing to increasing member engagement and expanding NFIB’s small business advocacy network will also be integral to her responsibilities.

Whittington transitions to NFIB from InUnison, a membership organization supporting small, independent businesses in Central Virginia, particularly around the Richmond area.

Blake Glinn, NFIB Senior Grassroots Manager, commented on this new appointment, stating, “We’re thrilled to welcome Katie to the team. She brings strong experience in local business advocacy and a real passion for helping small business owners make their voices heard. She’s already been part of Virginia Small Business Day as a partner, so we know she’ll hit the ground running. Her energy and experience will be a tremendous asset to our members.”
