CITY OF WHITEVILLE: Columbus reports five new COVID-19 cases; free testing in Bolton planned

City of Whiteville issued the following announcement on June 3

The Columbus County Health Department reported five new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the county’s total number of cases to 343.

“Two of the new cases are contacts of a known positive case, one of the cases is connected to a positive family member, one case is still under investigation, and the source of infection could not be found for one case,” the health department said in a press release.

The total of 343 cases includes 27 deaths and 131 recoveries, according to the health department.

Free COVID-19 testing will be available Thursday, June 11, from 1-4 p.m. at Goshen Medical Center, 213 9th St. in Bolton.

The testing, sponsored by Columbus County Health Department and Goshen, is by appointment only. To schedule an appointment, call 910-640-6615, ext. 7045 or 7046.
