NC State’s incoming freshman wrestler, Will Denny, has secured a gold medal in the 74kg freestyle category at the U20 Pan American Championships held in Lima, Peru. Representing the United States, Denny contributed to his team’s success as they claimed eight gold and two bronze medals overall.
Denny hails from Manhattan, Illinois, and showcased impressive performances by winning all three of his matches with bonus points. His final match against El Salvador’s Kevin Aleman Gomez ended in an 11-0 shutout victory.
The collective efforts of the team resulted in a substantial lead of 77 points at the event.
