Effective March 12, WakeMed will allow children under 12 to visit all hospital nursing units and patient care areas. This decision follows a decline in respiratory illnesses in the community.

Visitation restrictions were initially implemented to reduce infection risks for patients. WakeMed has expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation from patients, their families, and the community during this period.

WakeMed’s return to normal visitation status marks a significant step towards regular operations as health conditions improve.
