WakeMed has announced a new partnership with Chapter, an independent Medicare advisor, to provide educational resources and guidance for patients eligible for Medicare. The initiative will allow both current and newly-eligible Medicare patients at WakeMed to access no-cost consultations with Chapter’s advisors.
Through this collaboration, patients can receive up-to-date information about available plan options and assistance in completing the enrollment process. This service is available for those transitioning to Medicare coverage or considering changes during the Annual Enrollment period, which runs from October 15 through December 7.
Chapter’s advisors will help patients assess whether their existing plans meet their health care needs and offer support if they decide to change plans.
The partnership is part of WakeMed’s ongoing efforts to improve access to patient-centered care within the community. The organization emphasizes that this resource is designed to support each patient’s unique Medicare journey.
“Navigating Medicare plans can be overwhelming, with many factors to consider,” said Gayla Harvey, vice president of Managed Care Contracting for WakeMed. “At WakeMed, we are committed to helping our patients maintain access to the high-quality care they have come to expect from us. By leveraging Chapter’s technology and expertise, we aim to provide our patients with the information they need to choose original Medicare or the Medicare Advantage plan that best suits their needs.”
