WakeMed Health & Hospitals has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as high performing in 13 categories for the publication’s 2025-2026 Best Hospitals: Procedures & Conditions list.
U.S. News & World Report evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals nationwide across 22 procedures and conditions for its latest rankings. The high performing designation is the highest award given by the publication and reflects care that exceeds national averages based on patient outcomes and other measures.
WakeMed Raleigh Campus and WakeMed North Hospital were both rated as high performing in 12 areas, including aortic valve surgery, back surgery (spinal fusion), diabetes, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, hip fracture, pacemaker implantation, pneumonia, prostate cancer surgery, stroke, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). The evaluation of Raleigh Campus included data from WakeMed North Hospital.
WakeMed Cary Hospital was also recognized as high performing in several categories: heart arrhythmia, heart failure, pacemaker implantation, pneumonia, prostate cancer surgery, and stroke.
According to U.S. News & World Report, the annual Procedures & Conditions ratings are intended to help patients and physicians make informed choices about where to seek care for complex health issues or elective procedures.
