Visit NC Farms has announced a partnership with Megan Nichols, founder of NC Eat & Play, to promote agritourism across North Carolina. The collaboration involves a social media, newsletter, and blog campaign that will run through the following year.

The initiative aims to highlight seasonal agritourism destinations in the state, including U-pick farms and holiday-themed experiences. According to Erica Calderon, agritourism marketing specialist at the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, “Agriculture is the heartbeat of North Carolina. We are thrilled to work closely with NC Eat & Play to inspire more families to experience North Carolina’s rich agricultural heritage by visiting an agritourism destination.”

Agritourism is becoming more popular in North Carolina, offering additional income for farms and unique experiences for families. The joint effort between Visit NC Farms and NC Eat & Play seeks to encourage both travelers and residents to discover various agritourism options throughout the state.

The Visit NC Farms website provides information on farm-fresh food, farmers markets, u-pick fields, farm stays, wineries, farm-to-table meals, events, and other opportunities that support local agricultural communities. The program is a collaborative effort involving the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, tourism leaders, and farm businesses. Its mission is to strengthen ties between consumers and food producers in North Carolina. More details can be found at www.visitncfarms.com.
