The UNC Health Championship will take place at Raleigh Country Club from May 28 to 31, according to an April 28 announcement. Tickets are now available for the event, and organizers say volunteers are still needed.
The tournament is a significant stop on the Korn Ferry Tour and draws thousands of fans each year. More than 750 volunteers help run the event, which features professional golfers from around the world who are seen as future stars of the PGA TOUR.
Dr. Cristy Page, CEO of UNC Health, said, “UNC Health is proud to serve as the title sponsor for one of our state’s most exciting sports and charity events. We’re grateful for the team of volunteers and sponsors that help make the tournament a success every year. Our partnership with the Korn Ferry Tour helps support our mission of improving the health and wellbeing of all North Carolinians.”
Proceeds from this year’s championship will go toward developing North Carolina Children’s, which includes plans for a freestanding children’s hospital in Apex expected to open in the early 2030s through a partnership between UNC Health and Duke Health. The tournament also supports local nonprofit organizations such as Poe Center for Health Education, First Tee of the Triangle, SE Raleigh Promise, Alliance Medical Ministry, Wake County Boys and Girls Club, Grayson Murray Foundation, Table – feeding local kids, Note in the Pocket, and USO.
This year’s event will include an honorary tee time on Sunday afternoon in remembrance of Raleigh native Grayson Murray—a past champion on both PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry Tour—allowing family members and attendees to share a moment together followed by brief remarks.
Several professional golfers with ties to North Carolina are expected to compete this year including Taylor Dickson (Gastonia), Dylan Menante (UNC-Chapel Hill), and Doc Redman (Chapel Hill). Attractions during tournament week include free parking with shuttle service; free admission for children under fifteen accompanied by adults; half-price tickets on Thursday; special activities such as Collegiate Friday with free entry for college students; UNC Health Day featuring contests; Service Appreciation Day offering free admission for military personnel and first responders; local food vendors; therapy dogs; spectator seating areas; concessions from Empire Eats restaurants; Two Roosters Ice Cream; frozen drinks by The Slush;
and public fan terraces at holes No.15–17.
Raleigh Country Club continues its role as host venue—a course designed by Donald Ross—which organizers describe as one of toughest tests players face during season while providing expansive views,
unobstructed access,
and favorable experience for fans.
