U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle announced on April 17 that the Eastern District of North Carolina will observe National Crime Victims’ Rights Week with a ceremony in Raleigh during the week of April 19-25, 2026. The National Crime Victims’ Rights Ceremony is scheduled to take place at the State Archives Building, located at 109 East Jones Street, on Tuesday, April 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Members of the public and media are invited to attend but must register for the event.
The observance highlights efforts to recognize and support victims of crime within the community. The event is sponsored by the North Carolina Victim Assistance Network and members of the Victim Services Interagency Council of North Carolina.
The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina prosecutes federal crimes and litigates civil matters to protect communities, according to the official website. The office covers federal criminal and civil cases in the region’s forty-four easternmost counties and operates six federal courthouses in cities such as Raleigh, Fayetteville, Wilmington, New Bern, Greenville, and Elizabeth City.
