Rep. Alma S. Adams, Ph.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing North Carolina's 12th district, has recently made statements on her social media account concerning Black History Month and Elon Musk's access to federal government infrastructure. Adams, who succeeded Mel Watt in 2014, has a long history of public service, having served in the North Carolina House of Representatives from 1994 to 2014.

On February 3, 2025, Rep. Adams recognized the beginning of Black History Month with a statement shared via her social media account: "My statement recognizing the beginning of Black History Month: https://t.co/4artkICoa9".

The following day, on February 4, 2025, she addressed concerns regarding Elon Musk's involvement with federal government infrastructure through another post: "My statement on Elon Musks' unprecedented access to federal government infrastructure: https://t.co/X5sPtU2idQ".

In a subsequent tweet posted shortly thereafter on the same day, Rep. Adams emphasized that Musk does not hold an elected position within the U.S. government: "Elon Musk was not elected by the people, and he is not the President."
