CITY OF ARCHDALE: 4th Annual "A Week for Archdale"

City of Archdale issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.

The City of Archdale is preparing to celebrate its 4th Annual “A Week for Archdale”.  This is a week loaded with events and programs for the community and an opportunity for citizens to undertake fall cleaning tasks of their own.  In short, it is a chance for everyone to show great pride in the place we call home.

A brief listing of this year’s events includes:

  • Saturday Sept. 24th    Fall Litter Sweep (7:30am - 10am) Join fellow members of the community for a litter sweep along select roadways in Archdale.  Meet at the Archdale McDonalds at 7:30am for a free breakfast courtesy of restaurant owner Tony Delligatti.
  • Saturday Sept. 24th     Electronics Recycling Event at Creekside Park (8am-12pm) Bring your old and broken electronic devices for safe and free disposal at Creekside Park.  Use Mose Drive entrance and follow the signs.
  • Saturday Sept. 24th    End of Summer Bash (5pm - 8pm) A free concert event at Creekside Park featuring the Part Time Party Band, food trucks, & vendors.
  • Saturday Oct. 1st     Mayor’s Fitness Challenge Walking event (8:30am). Join Mayor Lewis Dorsett for a walk (or run) along the greenways of Creekside Park.  Enter Creekside Park via the Mose Drive entrance and look for Creekside parkrun 5k signs as these events will coincide.
  • Saturday Oct. 1st    Creekside parkrun (9am) This timed 5k race event is held weekly for FREE.  Walkers and runners alike enjoy this free 5k every Saturday morning.
  • All week:   FREE disposal of household waste at City Yard on Old School Road.  It’s Fall Clean Up time!  Dumpsters available 8am - 5pm for large household waste items (no paints, tires, batteries, etc.).
  • All week:  FREE mulch at the City yard on Old School Road.
  • All week:  Pickleball and Open Gym, as well as Yoga, Zumba, and Line Dancing classes offered at Creekside Park.
