CITY OF ASHEBORO: New Online Permit And Development Portal Available

Online

City of Asheboro issued the following announcement on Mar. 21.

Contractors and design professionals now have a way to interact with the City’s Community Development Division and submit building and land development-related applications online.

The Building Inspections, Fire Inspections, and Planning and Zoning departments have transitioned to a new Permitting and Development Portal, allowing customers to apply for various permits and to view permit statuses without having to visit or call city offices. Other benefits include the ability for users to:

• Upload images and documents with a permit application

• Communicate through a 2-way messaging system tool built right into the system

• Make payments

• Request inspections

The Permitting and Development Portal is available from the homepage and HERE. To apply for a permit, simply:

1. Click on the portal icon and then the desired application type.

2. Enter the property information and, if applicable, search for your contractor information. Contractors or design professionals who have previously done work in the city should already be the system; others will need to call the Community Development Division at 336-626-1201 or EMAIL STAFF to be added and obtain a unique contractor’s code that is necessary to schedule inspections.

3. Provide the requested information and click submit. Supporting information may be required (i.e. plans or drawings); upload the necessary file(s) using the “Choose Files” button.

4. Once submitted, city staff will review the request and contact an applicant about any additional information needed. Required fees will be communicated via email and a secure link for payment provided.
