CITY OF BOILING SPRING LAKES: Notice of Upcoming Detour on Fifty Lakes Drive

Detour

City of Boiling Spring Lakes issued the following announcement on Jan. 16.

The project has been slightly delayed. The city will be closing a small section of cardinal rd (from the intersection at fifty lakes) from January 17th through the 21st. Use palmetto as the detour. There is no timeline for the remainder of the project at this time.

A detour is being planned for Fifty Lakes Drive in Boiling Spring Lakes the first week of January (if weather is bad it will start the second week of January).  The detour will be in effect on the west end at the intersection of Springdale Road and Fifty Lakes drive and on the east end at the intersection of Cardinal Drive and Fifty Lakes Drive. Underground piping will be installed below Fifty Lakes Drive so the detour will utilize Cardinal, Palmetto and Springdale Roads.  Eden Drive will have access but there will be some detour affecting that road as well.   The detours are as follows:

Going Westward on Fifty Lakes Drive just across the railroad crossing, – the detour will make a left onto Cardinal and then a right onto Springdale back to Fifty Lakes.

Going Eastward on Fifty Lakes Drive, the detour will take a right onto Springdale and then a left onto Cardinal back to Fifty Lakes.

To access Eden Road:  Going westward – take a left onto Cardinal – then right onto Springdale then right onto Palmetto.  Cross over Fifty Lakes to Eden.

Going Eastward – Take a left onto Souchak and then a right onto Trevino to Eden.

Please see map below.  The roads highlighted in Blue are part of the detour.

Barring obstacles, the detour should last only two days.  Afterward, Cardinal Road will be closed for the piping to be placed under that road.
