City of Albemarle issued the following announcement on Aug. 3.
The City of Albemarle has been awarded $20,000.00 toward the purchase and installation of two Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations. Following a competitive application process the City was awarded funding as part of the North Carolina Volkswagen Mitigation Settlement Program.
Albemarle has now installed two charging locations in the downtown area. One is located at the Albemarle City Hall, 144 North 2nd Street, and the other is located at the new Police Station, 155 West South Street. Both locations are able to charge two vehicles simultaneously and are in service and available to the public.
