CITY OF ARCHDALE: City Public Utilities to Suspend Disconnections During State of Emergency

Bil

City of Archdale issued the following announcement.

In response to COVID-19, effective since March 15, 2020 and until further notice, City of Albemarle (COA) Public Utilities is temporarily suspending all utility account disconnects due to non-payment of COA Utilities bills. During this time, all customers will have access to electricity and clean and safe water for drinking and practicing good overall hygiene.

Customers will continue to accrue water, sewer, solid waste, recycling, and electric charges during this time and they will still be responsible for payment of their total utility bills.  Late charges will still be applied; reconnection fees will not be applied.  We strongly encourage all utility customers to make regular, appropriate payments to avoid a large past due accrual on their accounts.

City of Albemarle is encouraging utility customers to pay online, by phone, or through the drive thru at City Hall.  To access online payments visit, https://ipn.paymentus.com/cp/canc; to pay by phone call 1-844-203-8267.

For more information, contact Customer Service at 704-984-9615 or visit the City of Albemarle website at www.albemarlenc.gov.
