Join us as we build trails, plant native pollinator species, as well as remove invasive species and leftover fencing. This project is part of Activate Good's 9/11 Day of Service.

Following the project, enjoy a short hike through the preserve to get a sneak peek of everything this property has to offer. Walnut Hill will be a recreational and agricultural preserve located 15 minutes from downtown Raleigh. The preserve will have mountain biking and hiking trails, working farms, and an educational center focusing on environment and history of the local area. Our volunteers will help turn this dream into a reality.

Carpooling is highly encouraged. Parking is available in front of and next to the white building. Buses are permitted. Volunteers should check in at the white packhouse building upon arrival.

Volunteers should dress appropriately to engage in outdoor work, including hats, long pants, gloves, bandanas, and sturdy closed-toe footwear. The project will be outside in potentially hot conditions. Volunteers also should be prepared to walk up to a mile outside in nature. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, and a water bottle to stay hydrated!
