There were 94 deaths with chronic lower respiratory disease listed as the underlying cause reported in North Carolina during the week ending Oct. 29, 2022, a 16.8% decrease from the previous week.
There were 120 deaths with cerebrovascular disease listed as the underlying cause reported in North Carolina during the week ending Oct. 29, 2022, a 4.8% decrease from the previous week.
The National Assessment of Educational Progress data shows that the national average ACT scores have fallen again this year. The average ACT score for the class of 2022 fell to 19.8 out of 36, down from 20.3 in 2021.
There were 66 deaths with COVID-19 listed as a contributing cause reported in North Carolina in the week ending Oct. 15, making up 4.4% of total deaths by all causes in North Carolina.
Deaths after taking the COVID-19 vaccine total 8,214 across the US, with 151 deaths being in North Carolina, according to the National Vaccine Information Center.
