The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality’s Division of Marine Fisheries has announced that the Standard Commercial Fishing License Eligibility Board will hold a meeting by conference call on October 22 at 10:30 a.m. The board is scheduled to review license applications that are complete and were submitted by September 24.

Members of the public who wish to listen to the meeting can do so by calling 919-212-5733. Attendees are requested to mute their phones and refrain from announcing their names during the call. An alternative option for listening in person is available at the Wilmington Regional Office, located at 127 Cardinal Drive Extension in Wilmington.

The board typically meets two or three times each year to consider applications for commercial fishing licenses. Information about applying for a commercial fishing license can be found on the department’s website, where applicants are directed to use the Eligibility Pool Application link (https://deq.nc.gov/scfl-eligibility-pool).
