Rezilient Health and WakeMed announced on March 17 the opening of a new “Rezilient with WakeMed” CloudClinic in Clayton, expanding their hybrid healthcare model to improve access to primary and specialty care while aiming to lower costs for employers.

The launch of the Clayton clinic is part of an effort to make healthcare more accessible and affordable for local communities. The program offers concierge primary care, urgent care, and specialty consults through both tele-health and in-person visits at CloudClinics across the Triangle area. These services are currently available at no cost to WakeMed medical plan members, with plans to extend access to corporate clients in 2027.

The Clayton site joins three other Rezilient with WakeMed CloudClinics located in Cary, Chapel Hill, and North Raleigh. This positions WakeMed as one of the first health systems in the United States to integrate Rezilient’s hybrid tele-health and in-person care delivery model alongside its existing network of over 175 physician practice locations.

WakeMed has contributed significantly to community well-being as a key health care provider in the region, according to the official website. The health system features healthplexes equipped with emergency departments and outpatient services, as well as a broad network of physician practices covering various specialties, according to the official website. It has also been recognized as one of the nation’s top maternity hospitals, according to the official website.

As the largest health system in Wake County, North Carolina, according to the official website, WakeMed focuses on enhancing community health through exceptional and compassionate care. Donald Gintzig serves as president and CEO at WakeMed under oversight from a volunteer Board of Directors, according to the official website.

With this expansion into Clayton, observers may expect further growth of hybrid healthcare models that blend technology-driven convenience with traditional medical expertise.
