Alston Lamonte Parker, 39, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison following the execution of two search warrants that uncovered illegal drugs, a firearm, and cash. The sentencing comes after law enforcement agencies conducted investigations and searches at two residences in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina.

“We appreciate the partnership with the Halifax County Sheriff and the ATF to get this Big Shark Bad Boy off the streets,” said U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle. “We will continue to focus on making Eastern North Carolina safer for the good citizens who proudly live there.”

According to court records and evidence presented during sentencing, officers from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office executed search warrants on March 5, 2024, at homes located on Zoo Road and New Hope Street. The investigation included three years of surveillance on Parker. Authorities determined that one residence was used as a stash house for narcotics while another was used to store drug proceeds.

During their search of both properties and Parker’s vehicle, law enforcement seized nearly 587 grams of cocaine, over 1,600 grams of prepackaged marijuana, eight grams of crack cocaine, and more than $13,000 in cash. A Springfield Armory Model XDS 9mm pistol registered to someone in Virginia was also found. An additional $11,851 in cash was recovered at one of the locations.

Parker is a convicted felon who was under federal supervised release related to previous drug charges when these offenses occurred in March 2024. His earlier conviction for conspiracy to distribute cocaine resulted in more than 13 years in federal prison; he also has a prior felony conviction from 2005 for possession of cocaine.

U.S. Attorney Ellis Boyle announced the sentencing following proceedings before Chief U.S. District Judge Richard E. Myers II. The investigation involved cooperation between the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Assistant U.S. Attorney Kimberly Dixon prosecuted the case.
