Rep. Alma S. Adams, Ph.D., currently serving as a U.S. Congresswoman for North Carolina’s 12th District, shared her thoughts on recent events through social media posts on January 30, 2025.

In her first post, “My heart is broken by the tragic accident in Washington last night, on a flightpath to DCA that I regularly use as part of my job, and carrying a crew based in Charlotte.” Rep. Adams expressed sorrow over a tragic accident involving an airline flight path she frequently uses.

In another tweet posted shortly after, “I am praying for the victims on the airline, the Army helicopter, and their loved ones, and my heart and gratitude are with the first responders on the scene. That leaves no room for consideration of the President’s disgraceful comments.” Adams offered prayers for those affected by the incident and acknowledged the efforts of first responders while expressing disapproval of remarks made by the President.

Later that evening, she invited followers to watch her address live: “WATCH LIVE: Congresswoman Alma Adams delivers her 2025 State of the District Address https://t.co/aThTM37URI”.
