Rep. Alma S. Adams, Ph.D., currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing North Carolina’s 12th district, recently posted a series of updates via her Twitter account. Through these posts, Adams highlighted upcoming events and legislative efforts she is participating in, as well as expressed her support for unionized federal workers.

On March 27, 2025, Rep. Adams reminded her followers of an upcoming webinar that she would be hosting in celebration of Women’s History Month in collaboration with Rep. Later that same day, Adams mentioned her involvement in introducing new legislation aimed at supporting striking workers. In partnership with Rep. Greg Casar and Sen. John Fetterman, she introduced the Food Secure Strikers Act of 2025, which seeks to extend Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to striking workers. “Today, I joined @RepCasar and @SenFettermanPA in introducing the Food Secure Strikers Act of 2025 which allows striking workers to qualify for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. On March 28, 2025, Adams expressed her support for federal workers and the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) as they continue to combat actions she described as “disgusting, union-busting attacks.” She emphasized the importance of standing by unions, citing their historical role in building the country. “I stand with our federal workers and @AFGENational as they fight these disgusting, union-busting attacks. Unions helped build this country. We need to have their backs.”
