Randolph County Sheriff announces arrest of Elvis Daniel Reagan on multiple felony charges

The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office announced on May 1 that Elvis Daniel Reagan was arrested and charged with several felony offenses following an investigation into a reported sex offense involving a minor. The investigation began after authorities received information about the alleged incident on April 29.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the Criminal Investigations Division sought charges against Reagan for felony Child Abuse – Sex Act, ten counts of felony First-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, ten counts of felony Indecent Liberties with a Minor, ten counts of felony Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, five counts of Second-Degree Force Sex Offense, and five counts of felony First-Degree Statutory Sex Offense. A magistrate determined there was probable cause and issued warrants for his arrest.

Reagan was apprehended without incident by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team with assistance from the High Point Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit on N. Centennial St., High Point. He was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served with his arrest warrants and denied bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for May 1 in Randolph County District Court.

In related educational data for Randolph County school districts during the 2022-23 school year, the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction reports that among senior students taking the science portion of the ACT exam, 15.9% were considered ready for college (195 out of 1,226). For junior students in science, readiness stood at 14.2% (189 out of 1,329). Reading scores showed that among seniors taking this portion, college readiness reached 23.6% (289 out of 1,226), while juniors had a rate of 21.1% (281 out of 1,329). In math assessments among seniors and juniors respectively, readiness rates were recorded at 13.1% (160 out of 1,226) and at 10.1% (134 out of 1,329), according to the same source.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the ongoing investigation or potential future proceedings.
