The Raleigh Market at the State Fairgrounds will reopen on Saturday, November 8, following a month-long closure for the North Carolina State Fair. The market operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, except during October when the annual fair takes place.

During its reopening, indoor shops located in the Commercial and Education Buildings will remain closed due to ongoing roofing repairs. These repairs are expected to be completed by late spring. Some vendors who typically operate indoors will temporarily move their businesses outdoors or use storage pods while construction is underway. Kidds Frames, one of the vendors, will relocate to the south lobby of Dorton Arena for this period. Other vendors plan to return once the buildings are reopened in spring. Outdoor vendor spaces are not affected by these changes.

The Raleigh Market is recognized as one of the largest flea markets in the Southeast and features a variety of goods including antiques, handicrafts, furniture, and homemade products. Parking at the market remains free for all visitors. More details about the market can be found at www.theraleighmarket.com.

This weekend also features several events at the state fairgrounds: The 36th Annual Capital Area Handbell Festival will take place in the Scott Building on Friday and Saturday; the Neuse River Valley MRRC Train Show is scheduled in the Graham Building on both Saturday and Sunday; and visitors can attend the Magnificent Mums exhibit in the Martin Building over both days as well.

A full list of upcoming events at the fairgrounds is available online at www.ncagr.gov/divisions/ncstatefair/events.
