Peter Woods described himself as a “game disruptor” during the 2026 NFL combine, saying on April 17 that his skills make him a challenge for offensive coordinators. The former Clemson player addressed both his strengths and areas of concern, including arm length and changes in production between the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Woods said he is confident in his ability to impact games from multiple positions along the defensive line. “I’m the type of guy that causes offensive coordinators to lose sleep at night planning for me. You don’t really know where I’m going to line up, you don’t know where I’m going to be, but you’ve got to respect it, and you’ve got to know where I’m at at all times,” Woods said.

In comparing his performance across two seasons, Woods acknowledged that while some analysts view his earlier statistics as more promising, he attributes any differences to team dynamics rather than individual shortcomings. “I think in 2024, I had a lot more versatility within the scheme. But we brought in Will Heldt… And I think a lot of it was just having those dogs around me,” he said. He also dismissed concerns about arm length: “It’s easy to say ‘His arms are short,’ but… what’s on tape is on tape.” According to Pro Football Focus, most of Woods’ snaps in 2025 were played in the B-gap; previously he played across several positions.

Woods described how athleticism has always been part of his approach: “God gifted me with extreme athleticism that most guys my size don’t really have.” He added that positional flexibility is one of his main assets: “I bring a lot of positional versatility to any team that I go to… that’s one of the best parts of my game.” Despite scoring two goal-line rushing touchdowns last season, Woods does not see himself transitioning into an offensive role full-time.

The Carolina Panthers play their home games in downtown Charlotte and have secured multiple division titles and playoff appearances according to their official website. The team emphasizes building a championship culture while engaging with fans through community outreach efforts across North and South Carolina according to their official website. They offer various ticketing options including season tickets and premium seating according to their official website.

As teams evaluate prospects like Woods ahead of the draft, organizations such as the Panthers continue focusing on both competitive success and community involvement throughout the Carolinas according to their official website.
