Dr. Dwayne D. Callwood, a renowned cardiologist, has joined Person Memorial Hospital, bringing extensive experience from institutions such as Duke Health and UNC Hospital. His career includes thousands of interventional procedures and a focus on whole-person care.
Bert Beard, CEO of Person Memorial Hospital, stated, “Dr. Callwood’s depth of experience and long-standing commitment to excellence make him a tremendous addition to our cardiology program.” Dr. Callwood is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, with an interventional cardiology fellowship completed at Duke University Hospital.
Dr. Callwood’s medical journey began with a BS in Biochemistry from Old Dominion University followed by his graduation from the Medical College of Virginia. He has held academic roles at Duke and UNC, mentoring future medical professionals.
